Combative Greek Parliament President Zoe Konstantopoulou confronts a high-ranking police officer on a central boulevard outside the legislature and proceeds to “dress him down” over an apparent refusal by police officers to allow a group of protesters near Parliament.

He tells her he has orders not to allow protesters to enter Parliament, but he can allow a delegation of demonstrators inside if the latter want to post a resolution or to air their demands. Roughly 2,000 protesters, state healthcare workers, took to the streets of central Athens on Wednesday to promote their demands.

Konstantopoulou, no stranger to controversy, demands she be briefed over security measures and proceeds to lecture him on the merits of a democratic parliamentary system, amongst others.

She then invites the protesters inside Parliament.
