US FinMin Lew, attends the Dresden G7 Summit, and stated that the 5th of June may not be a crucial deadline for Greece. At the same time, however, he asked a solution to the Greek crisis “as soon as possible”.

During the press conference after the summit, Mr. Lew stated that the G7 agreed that a Greek crisis must be avoided, underlining that Athens needs to make harsh decisions.

The US official called for both sides to proceed with negotiations in order to reach a deal. He reiterated that nobody can predict the harm a Grexit can cause the world economy.
