Lufthansa to expand no. of domestic flights in Greece

200 per week estimated during summer period

German passenger Airline ‘Lufthansa’ announced it would expand its daily Greek domestic flights to and from Athens and Thessaloniki this summer to include new routes to Kerkyra, Zakynthos, Mykonos, Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes and Santorini. The company’s Middlea East, Africa and South Eastern Europe vice president, Tamur Goudarzi-Pour underlined that the German company had fostered string ties with the Greek business and tourism industries. The head of Lufthansa in Greece, Konstantinos Tzevelekos said he was honoured to be at the helm of such a dynamic group of people in the company’s Athens subsidiary that provides a vast array of traveling destination to its clients in Greece and Cyprus. According to Tzevelekos, Lufthansa will provide 200 outbound flights per week from Greece 5to passengers throughout Greece during the summer period. He added that there was a slight drop in bookings due to the refugee crisis in destinations in the eastern Mediterranean islands, but believed it would be counterweighed by a rise in bookings for Crete and the Ionian islands.
