A magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale hit the south of Zakynthos, according to the Geodynamic Institute.
The epicentre was located 40km to the south of the island which is part of the Greek cluster of the Eptanese in the Ionian Sea
The tremor occurred at 13:02 on Tuesday afternoon and its depth was estimated at 10 km.
