MH17: The Pro-Russian separatists agreed to hand over the black boxes

They will deliver them to international experts because they “do not trust” the Ukrainians

Pro-Russian rebels announced today that they have recovered the black boxes from MH17 and taken them to a safe location in Donetsk where they will remain until they are handed over to international investigators.

Aleksander Borodai, leader of the Pro-Russian separatists, stated that since there are no specialists among them who could examine the boxes, they are willing to hand them over to international experts, as they don’t trust the Ukrainians.

A video was also released today that shows a flight data recorder being recovered from the crash site of flight MH17.

The footage shows one man walking across the field carrying an orange-coloured flight data recorder. Audio from another man can be heard saying “flight recorder”, in Russian.

In the meantime, US secretary of state, John Kerry, said on Sunday that all the evidence surrounding the downed Malaysian passenger plane pointed a clear finger at Ukrainian separatists.

Speaking on CNN, Kerry said: “We have enormous input about this that points fingers. It is pretty clear that this was a system from Russia, transferred to separatists. We know with confidence that the Ukrainians did not have such a system anywhere near the vicinity at that point of time.”
