Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production in Lesvos (MBEL)

The Agia Paraskevi complex has been developed as “an oil-mill turned into a museum of an oil-mill”, restoring both its architectural and mechanical features to their original condition

The museum is located at the region of Agia Paraskevi and is housed on the premises of an old communal oil-mill. The program has been financed by the 3rd EU Structural and Cohesion Fund. The old machinery and equipment have been preserved, fully restored and exhibited in a unique way. Visitors can witness the development of the various machines. Special emphasis is cast on the changes introduced with mechanical power.

The museum is closed on Tuesdays and on public holidays. Opening hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from March 1 to October 15 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October 16 through to February 28. Tickets are at three euros (1.5 euros reduced). It is located at 2 Agia Paraskevi on the isle of Lesbos. Telephone 22530 32300.
