Mykonos: 10-year-old boy dies in speedboat accident

The driver and the owner of the business were arrested by local authorities

A 10-year-old boy died tragically in a speedboat accident off the island of Mykonos on Monday afternoon.

The boy was riding a toy in the shape of a banana towed by a speedboat in the Kalo Livadi area of the island.

According to information, the boy lost his balance and fell in the sea, and when the speedboat driver turned the boat around to check on him, he injured him fatally with the propeller.

A lifeguard was present at the area but, despite his efforts, he wasn’t able to save the child.

The boy was pronounced dead at the island’s health centre, while both the driver and the owner of the business were arrested by local authorities.
