Pricey hole in the wall! Corners in hotspot Mykonos going for 600 euros a month

Inch for inch, it would have to be amongst the most expensive bits of commercial real estate in Europe

The meteoric rise of tourism on cosmopolitan Mykonos over the past decades allows many property owners on the island to take advantage of every single inch of their estates.

 

In order to boost summer holiday revenue, many an onwer will even lease space under the stairs of their villa to host small shops or boutiques.

 

The leasing prices of such locations, one was even used as an outhouse once, starts at a hefty 600 euros a month. Prices vary according to the pedestrian traffic of the cobbled street, even reaching up to 1,500 euros a month in Matoyannia.

 

Inch for inch, it would have to be amongst the most expensive bits of commercial real estate in Europe.

Seems Mykonos is impervious to the econ crisis in other parts of Greece and southern Europe.
