Take a deep breath of whisky! New bar gets visitors drunk… on air!

Breathe in your drink with Bompas and Parr’s walk-in cloud bar

A new bar at an ancient monastery in Borough, London, opened on Thursday, revolutionizing what it means to be intoxicated. Bompas and Parr kicked off with super-saturated alcoholic air. The air cocktails are made using powerful humidifiers mixing fine spirits in the air at a ratio of 1:3. Alcohol is breathed in through the lungs and eyeballs. Guests are advised to “breathe responsibly” what they aren’t told is that they breathe at their own risk!

The project is the brainchild of two friends – Sam Bompas and Harry Parr – who specialize in flavored experiences, such as having drinkers consume whisky from the contours of bodies of people that are the same age as the drink. Other projects included a vibrating jelly powered by a sex toy and a pulsating light installation for a carnal carnival at the Museum of sex.

The drink-breathing experience is created to give the bar guests the feeling that they are right inside their glass. Even the sound is modulated to make the drinker feel that they are inside their cocktail. Everybody has the same flavor sensation…

The creators liken the drink-breathing to the same feeling as eating fish and chips by the seaside and having the sea air enhance the experience.
