New evaluation system for public servants

Fundamental changes to administration

Alternate Minister for Administrative Reform Christoforos Vernardakis announced government plans to introduce a new system for the evaluation and mobility of public servants, establish the National Register for managers and a selection system for supervisors based on merit and to reduce the administrative burden.

“The government is here to make fundamental changes to administration that has been eroded by the silent or non-transparent privatization, economic interdependence, corruption and opacity, bureaucracy and the marginalization of human resources,” said the minister during the last day of the debate on the government’s policy statements.

Vernardakis said the system of evaluation will “ensure transparency, justice and social accountability.”
