The Big Bang theory is the scientifically accepted view as to how the world came into existence around 13,8 billion years ago. Now scientists are suggesting we could be heading for a dramatic cosmic end: the Big Rip! The new theoretical model claims that as the universe expands, so do all elements like galaxies, planets, atomic particles and space time itself. This will eventually result in all these elements being torn apart before they disappear! No need to head for the mountains (although it wouldn’t make any difference) just yet! The model suggests these events are expected to unfold in around 22 billion years from now. The end of our cosmos is still a matter of intense arguments. Dr. Marcelo Disconzi, the mathematician in charge of the theoretical model from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, said: “The only thing that we definitely know is that universe is expanding and that the rate is accelerating”.  The Greek crisis should have ended by then….
