Nicolas Sarkozy corruption investigation suspended

This decision comes a few days after Nicolas Sarkozy had announced his political comeback

The investigation which was launched in July against former French president Nicolas Sarkozy for corruption and influence-peddling has been now suspended, a few days after Nicolas Sarkozy had announced his political comeback.

The Court of Appeal of Paris decided not to proceed to the investigation and does not have to provide any explanation, as a judicial source reported to Agence France-Presse.

This decision offers respite to Sarkozy, who is still under criminal investigation.
