Norman Atlantic: 165 passengers have been rescued so far

Three children aged two and three years old accordingly have been rescued from the burning “Norman Atlantic” – The children remained for several hours at low temperature and may have complications in their health

According to the Italian navy Italian helicopters are already carrying survivors in Lecce. Overall, 111 passengers have been rescued. Among them, small children which according to the  Italian La Repubblica, the three children have hypothermia symptoms and were initially transported to a military base and then to hospitals in Lecce.

40 of the survivors have been transferred in Aby Jeanette, 14 in Cruise Europa, 49 to the Spirit of Pireaus and eight in Lecce.

All three children are receiving first aid at the hospitals in the region of Lecce, where they were transported with their mothers.

Meanwhile, a  rescuer that was transferred in the city of Otranto, said that the fire has spread in Norman Atlantic and the ship began to show a inclination towards one side.

Three women who were also transferred to Gkalatina, suffer from slight hypothermia, but their health is not of particular concern.

The other two are Italian men and they are in good health.
