Olympic Air flight cancellations due to strike action

36 flights to be affected on Wednesday and Thursday

Olympic Air on Tuesday announced the cancellation of 36 flights, mainly to Greek regional airports, on Wednesday and Thursday due to strike action by civil aviation authority staff.

The Panhellenic Association of Graduate Telecommunications Employees of the Civil Aviation Authority said there would be a four-hour work stoppage on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon, and a 24-hour strike on Thursday, as has the CAA staff union OSYPA.

The airline is cancelling flights to and from Athens and the islands of Paros, Naxos, Leros, and Kalymnos, as well as flights stopping at Rhodes, Karpathos, Kasos and Sitia airport on Crete, on Wednesday. It will then cancel scheduled flights to and from Athens and Paros, Naxos, Milos, Syros, Kythira, Astypalaia, Leros, Ikaria, Kalymnos and Karpathos on Thursday, in addition to a Thursday flights between Rhodes and Karpathos, Kos, Kalymnos and Leros and change the departure time of a flight from Kos to Rhodes.
