Kammenos: The days of the Troika are over

Defence Minister P. Kammenos said that the anti-austerity message has been received by Greece’s EU counterparts

Defence Minister Panos Kammenos, who heads the rightist populist Independent Greeks (ANEL), on Friday told private ANT1 TV that Greece’s links with the troika of Greece’s international creditors from the European Commission (EC), European Central Bank (ECB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) are finished for good.

Commenting on the results of an informal European Council on Thursday and the solidarity rallies held by pro-Greek government supporters, he said the message for the termination of the austerity program has been clearly understood.

He said the troika and its controversial bailout are over for good in Greece. “We won’t be seeing those guys who used to go into ministries giving orders to ministers ever again,” he said.
