What happens when one man decides to embellish his online status?

In his short film that was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, Shaun Hington presents the false glamour of a false life.

No-one can deny the crucial role the social media play in our lives. We all know the influence they have on us and we are all familiar with examples of their abuse.

However, it is still shocking when someone reminds us just how harmful they can be in certain cases. This is what director Shaun Higton did his short film, that was shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

The protagonist of the film is a young man who uses his Facebook status updates to create and maintain the facade of a happy life, while his real life is going downhill.

After losing everything, his girlfriend, his job and his self respect, he is forced to admit the awful truth: His life sucks.

However, his online friends are not exactly ready to learn the truth…
