In a fit of blind rage, Panathinaikos football hooligans attacked celebrity sports journalist Babis Christoglou from SPOR-FM. The journalist was attended a function at the Caravel hotel, however a mob of Panathinaikos supporters waited for him outside on the eve of the big Panathinaikos vs. Olympiacos basketball match taking place at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Thursday.
The hooligans pushed, abused and kicked the sportscaster in fits of fury while accusing him of showing impartiality to Olympiacos.
Thankfully, the journalist is shaken but fine and will appear on his sports show on SPOR-FM at 3 p.m. on Friday as usual.
The radio station has called on the police to react to the violence to show that violence in sports will not be tolerated.
