Papademos: Greece will achieve debt sustainability with austerity and growth

Reforms is the main factor to achieve these goals, he underlined

The former Prime Minister Lucas Papademos pointed out that reforms is the main factor to achieve sustainable development.

“To ensure debt sustainability two things are mainly required: implementing a fiscal policy leading to primary surpluses which will contribute to the gradual reduction of debt and implementing an economic policy which will stimulate business activity and help to achieve a long-term sustainable economic growth,” the former Prime Minister Lucas Papademos told Vima newspaper.

He also stressed that reforms is the main factor to achieve these goals.

Moreover, he noted that “a small and open economy, such as Greek economy, can achieve high and sustainable development only if it becomes more competitive and improve significantly its exports”.
