Parade of giant flower floats inspired by Van Gogh paintings

The first parade was organized in 1936 and its giant sculptural floats are covered in dahlias

Every year, thousands of people gather in Zundert, a small town of Netherlands, to attend the oldest flower festival in Europe. The first parade was organized in 1936 and takes place the first Sunday of September.

Zundert is known around the world for its giant sculptural floats covered in dahlias, and the locals are really into their annual festival.

“We are crazy about our flower parade,” reads a description on the parade’s website.

This year, the town honors Vincent van Gogh, who was born in Zundert in 1853 and died 125 years ago this year.
