Parliament budget ofc to SYRIZA govt: No agreement risks ‘credit event’

To avoid an exit from Eurozone and to correct the program with lenders are the two requests made by the Parliament Budget Office

Parliament’s Budget Office on Friday warned the new government of a revenue shortfall in the implementation of the state budget as well as fiscal “gaps”, while also calling on its neophyte political bosses to take decisions “as soon as possible”.

Officials cited huge liabilities faced by the country in coming months, stressing that they will be impossible to cover if there’s no agreement with partners.

The last salvo fired by the semi-independent budget office stresses that Greece’s position at the negotiating table is more difficult than it is for creditors, and that “a possible lack of agreement in relation to the settlement of the country’s financial requirements would be the equivalent to a credit event”.
