Plane crashes into stray dogs at Rhodes airport

No serious problems caused

A Ryanair passenger plane was forced to return to the airport of Diagoras in Rhodes after it collided with a pack of stray dogs on the runway, Sunday.
The incident occurred when the Athens-bound aircraft hit some stray dogs on the tarmac while it was taking off from the Diagoras airport on the island of Rhodes. The pilot became aware of the collision and after taking off requested permission from the traffic control tower to land again so that the aircraft could undergo a safety inspection. The tower granted permission and after the necessary security checks, the plane left on its route to Athens. It is not the first time stray dogs present a problem on the island’s airport.
