PM Tsipras seeks the support of 200 MPs for the electoral law

He will have a series of meetings with all political leaders

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will have a series of meetings with all political leaders in order to ensure the consensus of at least 200 MPs for the implementation of the new electoral law which will apply in the coming election and lead to political isolation of main opposition New Democracy, which insists on enhanced proportional representation and bonus seat.

On Tuesday Mr. Tsipras will meet with Independent Greeks (ANEL) leader Panos Kammenos, while on Thursday he will meet with ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Communist Party (KKE) general secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas and PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata.

Finally, on Friday Mr. Tsipras will receive Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis and the president of Centrists Union Vassilis Leventis.

Mr. Tsipras will present to the political leaders SYRIZA’s proposal and listen to their suggestions, while during weekend SYRIZA’s Committee will convene to decide on how the government will handle the issue.
