Pope Francis accepts the Big Bang Theory and Evolution

The Argentine Pope “shakes” the foundations of a backwards-thinking Catholic church, for the better

Another intervention by Pope Francis “shakes” the foundations of the Catholic church. This time, the Argentine Pope chose to busy himself with Darwin’s theory of evolution. This time, however, instead of “excommunicating” it as being against the word of God, he decided to support it. As Reuters reports, Francis, speaking in the Papal Academy of Science mentioned that the Big Bang Theory and the theory of evolution do not go against “God’s intervention”, but precondition it.

In his speech to students, he stated: “When we read about Creation in Genesis, we are in danger of believing that God was a wizard, who waved a magic wand and created everything. But it is not so”.

“God is not a divine creature or a wizard, but the Creator who gave Life to everything”, explained Francis and continued: “The evolution of species within nature is not contract to Creation, because evolution needs the creation of species which evolve”.
