Pope on Hagia Sophia: I am very saddened

Sea Sunday is an annual event which remembers seafarers in prayer

Pope Francis weighed in on the conversion of the Hagia Sophia by Turkey, following the recitation of the Marian Prayer and recalling Sea Sunday.

The Pontiff made reference to the Basilica of Hagia Sophia while dwelling on the sea, saying it made him think about what is happening in Constantinople.
