Portugal-Ghana, 2-1

The match ended in a Portugal win, but neither of the teams made it through

An exciting, yet desperate match took place today between Portugal and Ghana.

The first goal came for Portugal in the 31st minute with Ghana’s John Boye’s own goal.

However, Ghana got their act together and Asamoah Gyan scored after a beautiful cross from his teammate in the 57th minute.

Despite that, after many missed chances by Ghana, C. Ronaldo managed to score in the 80th minute with an easy shot after the Ghana keeper fumbled a save and didn’t send the ball far enough away. The superstar, of course, unmarked, took the chance and scored, putting Portugal in front once more.

However, the Portuguese, though they had many missed chances, were not able to cover the goal difference that separated them from the USA, who lost their match against Germany but remained in second place. It turned out that the initial game between Germany and Portugal, where the latter had lost by 4 goals, turned out to be the one that came back to haunt them.
