Photographer Carli Davidson’s new book “Shake Puppies”, released on Tuesday, features more than 60 puppies shaking their fur. Ms. Davidson captured the adorable pooches in mid-shake freezes so that adorable expressions unseen to the naked eye can be captured on camera.
The photographer captured the dogs in the middle of wiggling sessions and faced numerous challenges while shooting and there were times when bladders were out of control. She tried to work with rescue shelters and pet owners as much as possible. “I also worked closely with my production assistant who happens to run an animal rescue and who helped make sure that any breeders we worked with were philosophically in line with both of us. This meant that instead of just finding breeders in Portland, Oregon, we sometimes had to pack up and drive down to California so we could feel good about the shoot!” she said in the press release.
The photographer’s aim in this project was to use cute images to increase compassion towards animals.
Ms. Davidson’s next project is about cats!
