Prime Minister to meet Deputy Prime Minister on the negotiations with the Troika

“Greece will be absolutely safe in the era after the end of the memorandum as long as we do not fall into a vortex and political uncertainty” Prime Minister says

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos today at Maximos Mansion in order to discuss about the recent economic developments and negotiation efforts.

Yesterday Mr. Antonis Samaras told the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) annual congress that Greece will be absolutely safe in the era after the end of the memorandum and does not need another bailout agreement. He also said that ” a lot had been achieved by the government in its two years and more could be achieved as long as we do not fall into a vortex and political uncertainty; it is necessary to continue on the path of reforms, because this is in the interest of the country and the Greek people.”

Another meeting was held yesterday at Maximos Mansion on the difficulties that the government faces regarding the negotiations on red loan issue and the issue of 100 installments to tax authorities and social security funds. The economic team, the Ministers of Labour, Justice and Development and advisors of Prime Minister participated in the meeting.

However, the government team is also concerned about the fact that lenders require to proceed immediately and complete all the reforms included on labor and insurance sector.

The fact that European partners and lenders do not understand the current difficult political situation causes anxiety to Prime Minister, who will meet tomorrow and the next day with the leaders and officials of the EU in the framework of the EU Summit.
