Public hospital workers on 4-hour stoppages Wednesday, June 29

They demand permanent jobs in the healthcare system

The Greek union of public hospital workers has announced it would proceed with 4-hour work stoppages for Wednesday, June 29 from 11am till 3pm. The public hospital employees are protesting the ‘break up of the national healthcare system, the welfare system and the national emergency centre (EKAB)’. The union called on workers to take part in a protest outside the Greek Ministry of Health at 11.30am on Wednesday. Demonstrations will also take place in hospital yards across the country. Public hospital workers are demanding permanent positions, sufficient staffing and funding for the public healthcare and welfare system.
