Public Order Minister: Battle against terrorism is a continuous struggle

Mr. Kikilias also announced the establishment of a Crisis Management Operations Center.

In an interview to Kathimerini newspaper, Public Order Minister Vassilis Kikilias characterized the battle against terrorism as “a lengthy and arduous struggle that demands constant vigilance”.

The minister underlined that “both our democracy and the good order are at stake. We all have witnessed how easily and unscrupulously the arrested terrorist Nikos Maziotis opened fire at the recent incident in the centre of Athens that led to his arrest. It should be noted that the police shot only once to stop the terrorist”.

Mr. Kikilias also announced the establishment of a Crisis Management Operations Center. This center “will be housed in the Public Order Ministry and will report in real time to the country’s prime minister,” the minister said.
