Yet another child was found dead in the sea region north of Lesvos late on Thursday when a vessel of the Greek Coast Guard rescued 56 refugees. The little boy was found unconscious and lost his battle for life despite the efforts of volunteer doctors who tried to save him.

The young boy’s death was confirmed at the Lesvos health center.

Overnight, the Coast Guard rescued another 118 refugees on a dinghy sinking in the sea region off Lesvos.

Around 2,000 refugees made their way to Lesvos over the last 24 hours.
