“Give my country an opportunity, it’s genuinely earned it; I call on you to back Greece,” former Greek premier Antonis Samaras told his European People’s Party colleagues on Tuesday in Strasbourg.
Samaras spoke at a regular EPP session, saying he is asking support for Greece regardless of who is in government in the country.
He served as prime minister between June 2012 to January 2015, coming in second after a first-place showing by leftist SYRIZA.
