N. Georgiadis steps down from ND to defend himself against pedophilia allegations

Nikos Georgiadis asked for the “mudslinging” to stop and pointed to political purposes behind allegations implicating him in a sex scandal with minors

Conservative New Democracy (ND) deputy Nikos Georgiadis, considered to be the right-hand man of the new ND party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, announced his decision to resign so as to defend himself against allegations that implicate him in a sex scandal involving children. He points to insidious “mud-slinging” against him that serves political purposes.

Georgiadis’ decision comes following reports that implicate him in a case of pedophilia in Moldovia a few years ago. Following the reports that allege his activities with minors, the Athens prosecution announced a preliminary investigation into the matter.
