They partied together before they died in a tragic car accident

Six Greek students, aged between 20 and 24 years, met with tragedy on Monday in Patras. After meeting at a party in the center of the Peloponnesian portside town, the young people decided to leave together in one car that met with tragedy, falling into the sea at 5.30 a.m. There is still mystery concerning the circumstances surrounding the accident from which only half of the passengers were able to escape. Tests are being conducted to gauge the condition of the car’s driver, aged 24.

SHOCK

Friends and family of the two female students and one male student who lost their lives in the incident are in a state of shock. Regina Zapanti, aged 23, Andreas Vissarionas, aged 21, and Georgianna Mourafeti, aged 20, were the three victims. Funerals are to take place at 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Diver Christos Karaflos, who retrieved the remaining bodies, says: “I encountered three lifeless corpses in a passenger car. One boy and a girl were in the back seat and the other girl sat at the front. The doors were shut and the car was overturned in the sea. Three young souls lost…”

The three survivors of the accident include the driver who is in hospital and in a state of shock. The first toxic tests show that he had not consumed alcohol, however blood tests will give a full account of his condition.
