Single property tax amendments on the way

The corrected ENFIA forms are expected to be ready by September 15

The Greek Finance Ministry is submitting its amendments to the new single property tax (ENFIA) to relevant parliamentary groups on Tuesday following a meeting on Monday between Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis, Deputy Finance Minister George Mavraganis and General Secretary of State Revenue Katerina Savaidi. Sources state that the final plan will include 15-20% tax reductions for vacant flats but assets evaluations will limit the number of beneficiaries. As planned, there will be revisions to the tax rates for 4,000 residential areas around Greece. Some of these are expected to have as much as 90% cuts to their taxes so that they can be taken to 2013 levels.

The corrected forms are expected to be ready by September 15 after amendments are voted by Parliament over the coming days. The amended forms will be available to taxpayers on the ministry’s portal – www.gsis.gr
