Smart bikini warns wearer if they’ve had too much sun

The intelligent bikini could save you from skin cancer

A wired bikini with a built-in UV sensor has been developed by French creators to warn bathers if they have had too much sun exposure. A tiny sensor attached to the fabric of the swimsuit alerts users if they have had too much sun based on their skin type through text messages. There’s even a special “Valentines” application that can be sent to the user’s partner so that he or she can apply the sun cream onto their partner.

The inspiration to create such a bikini came after an off-the-cuff remark was made at a beach when the designer, Marie Spinali of Spinali Design in Mulhouse, eastern France, saw people looking like “lobsters still in the sun.”

There’s even a beach towel variation complete with a GPS alert for parents in case their kids wander off.
