British actor Idris Elba may become the next James Bond, according to a leaked Sony email.

The 42-year-old actor, best known for his portrayal of drug lord and aspiring businessman Russell “Stringer” Bell in the HBO series The Wire, as well as Nelson Mandela in the biographical film “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” could replace Daniel Craig once his contract expires after two more films.

Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal allegedly insisted in the email that was leaked that “Idris should be the new Bond,” international media report.
