Stournaras: Tsipras deliberately hurts Greece

Mr. Stournaras notes that Mr. Tsipras has repeatedly made derogatory statements about him

Finance Minister Mr. Yannis Stournaras replied to opposition leader Mr. Alexis Tsirpas’ interview in “Le Monde” newspaper, in which the latte characterized the former as “an imperative put in place by Berlin”.

Mr. Stournaras notes that Mr. Tsipras has repeatedly made derogatory statements about him, stressing that this only reinforces the idea that SYRIZA’s arguments are poor and lacking in depth or number.

He also added that throughout all his talks and meetings with Mr. Tsipras in Parliament or political debates, he has spoken to him with due respect and has gone to great lengths to explain to SYRIZA’s leader “the value of currency stability as a prerequisite for the development and prosperity of our people”.

According to the Finance Minister, SYRIZA’s attention against him and the insults the opposition party has unleashed, in no way contribute to creative political dialogue.

In conclusion, Mr. Stournaras stresses that “it is a shame that Mr. Tsipras assaults the Greek Minister of Finance on foreign newspapers, deliberately hurting the country. I repeat; Deliberately. This is recorded by his personal history”.
