Strong earthquake SE off Crete

Tremor rattles the entire island

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale was recorded at 21.07 (19.07 GMT) on Thursday evening in a sea region off southeastern Crete.

The tremor was felt throughout the large island in the southern Aegean, although no damages have yet been reported.

An aftershook of 4.2 on the Richter scale was later recorded at 21.14, close to the isle of Kasos.
