SYRIZA continues theater of the absurd as citizens are invited to strike

The ruling party submitting bailout legislation to Greek Parliament is now inviting citizens to strike against it!

The ruling Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) party has invited citizens to rally as part of the strike action being carried out by unions against the government’s very own bailout deal. In a statement, the ruling part invites workers to “keep hope alive, responding to the daily blackmail of employers and liberal political centers of Greece.” SYRIZA had also invited workers to take part in worker mobilizations on November 12.

The same party inviting citizens to strike is the same one whose legislation on social security will lift the pension age to 67 years, offer retirement benefits only after 40 years of labor and move to new reductions in main pensions while destroying auxiliary pensions and abolishing the social solidarity pension fund (EKAS) while also decreasing lump sum benefits.

The message ironically ends with the words “the popular struggles will win” – presumably against government policies.
