SYRIZA MEP appeals to President Putin to exclude Greece from Russian embargo

Mr. Glezos underlined that he understands the reasons that led the Russian leader to impose the embargo

MEP Manolis Glezos, who was elected with main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) party, appealed on Friday to Russian President Vladimir Putin to exclude the Greek products from Russia’s recently announced embargo on agricultural produce imports from the European Union.

In his letter addressed to the Russian President, Mr. Glezos underlined that although he understands the reasons that led the Russian leader to impose an embargo on European Union agricultural products, the Russian president should reconsider his decision.

More specifically, SYRIZA MEP wrote: “On behalf of the Greek people, who are going through a period of extreme deprivation, I appeal to your humanitarian feelings to reconsider your decision as regards the Greek farmers.”
