Alexander Borodai, who is one of the leaders of the Donetsk People’s Republic, handed over the black boxes of the Boeing which was crashed at eastern Ukraine to Malaysian experts in the city of Donetsk in the early hours of Tuesday.

“Here they are, the black boxes,” Borodai told a room packed with journalists at the headquarters of his self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic as an armed rebel placed the boxes on a desk.

Both sides then, the pro-Russian separatists and experts from Malaysia, signed a document, which according to Borodai was a protocol to finalize the delivery procedure.

Colonel Mohamed Sakri of Malaysian National Security Council who received the boxes told the meeting that the two black boxes were “in good condition.”

Also, the pro-Russian separatists announced a ceasefire in a radius of 10 km around the site where the aircraft was shot down to facilitate the investigations.

Meanwhile, Russia via its embassy to Malaysia requested the investigation to be carried out under international supervision and not by Ukraine.
