The salvage operation of the Mirage 2000-5 starts tomorow

Researchers are expected to begin work in the early morning hours

Tomorrow, Thursday will begin the salvage operation of what is left of the Mirage 2000-5 that crashed last week killing George Baltadoros.

The salvage operation will take place in the sea area off Skyros. Today, the oceanographic vessel of the Hellenic Center for Marine Research departed from the port of Piraeus to the area of the operation.

The Mirage has been located at a depth of 830 meters. Experts don’t yet know the number of pieces the aircraft is in or their size and they expect the surveys to provide answers to specific issues that will affect the operation.

Researchers are expected to begin work in the early morning hours of April 19th.
