The Troika withdraws its proposal – Referendum up in the air

Back-to-back developments

The referendum in Greece means that the 245 billion euro aid package to the country will suddenly end on Tuesday, according to the French News Agency.

According to the agency, which quotes EU officials, the Eurozone finance ministers will discuss alternatives for more help on Saturday’s Eurogroup, including capital controls.

“The Greeks will vote on a deal that is no longer on the table”, stated an official characteristically, and added: “it’s time for Plan B”.

On their part, two more officials mean that the first reaction to the referendum will be capital controls.
