The woman or the car? Fashion designer uses auto upholstery to make gowns as sexy as new cars

When a woman wears a leather dress, a man’s heart beats quicker and his throat gets dry, and he goes weak at the knees? Have you ever wondered why? It’s because she smells like a new car!

There’s nothing like the smell of a new car to make a man’s heart beat faster… but now, the idea is taken to a whole new level with one auto supplier proving “ready to wear” clothes made using upholstery.

Inteva Products commissioned the creation of four cars using the same thermoplastic material used on the instrument panel surfaces of some General Motors vehicles.

Launched at the recent pop-up fashion show at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, guests were left flabbergasted as four models strutted around with formal dresses made from Inteva’s Inteather. They passed by dumbfounded auto show attendees as well as the GMC Yukon and Sierra, both of which feature instrument panel surfaces made of the thermoplastic olefin material.
