Tsakalotos replaces Varoufakis as FinMin

Recently served as SYRIZA government’s chief negotiator with creditors

Eucleid Tsakalotos succeeded Yanis Varoufakis as the new Greek FinMin on Monday, a replacement that was more-or-less expected.
The UK-trained economics professor served as Alternate FM of international economic relations up until Sunday.
He will be sworn-in in the evening.
Tsakalotos’ first test comes as early as Tuesday, where he’ll represent the crisis-battered country in the latest Eurogroup meeting in Brussels, convened to once again focus on the Greek issue.
Speaking to the press before a swearing-in ceremony took place at the presidential mansion, Tsakalotos said he could be “lying if I didn’t tell you that I was stressed (about taking up the post).”
