Tsipras finds a way to save main pensions

Will he be able to pull it off?

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will unveil a plan to save main pensions at his meeting with political leaders to convene at noon on Saturday. Through the “recapitalization” of fund reserves, he hopes that there will be no reductions in pension funds.

Instead of pension slashes, he will propose that equivalent measures are found through the viable restructuring of the social security system.

In essence, Tsipras appears to be trying to soothe the reactions of the opposition concerning his call for a meeting, especially in regards to discussion on social security reforms.
