Tsipras met with UN Secretary General to discuss issues of Greek importance

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The Cyprus issue, migration and negotiations on the thorny name dispute between Greece and Skopje were amongst the issues discussed.

A spokesman of the UN Secretary General said the two men focused particularly on the increased migration flow to Europe and the challenges that Greece faces in this regard. Ban Ki-moon welcomed progress made on the Cyprus issue and underlined the importance of Greece’s support.
