Tsipras: Those dreaming of a repeat of 2015 will be disproved

Only support Greece has is by the EU socialists

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras warned that those ‘dreaming’ of a repeat of the 2015 dramatic talks would soon be proven wrong, according to sources close to the PM. Despite the fact that negotiations failed with the institutions and Tsipras failed to persuade Donald Tusk to convene an EU Summit, the Greek PM is optimistic that things will end positively, stressing that the country has strong alliances in the EU. The only positive sign that could justify Tsipra’s optimism is the support Greece enjoys from the EU socialists. The Greek PM received an invitation to attend the 2nd socialists meeting scheduled to take place in Rome on May 20. The Greek government is attempting to turn the tide of negative news by entering a damage control mode through leaks of non-papers and press briefings claiming all is going well and blaming the IMF for its tactics. Greece’s creditors left Thursday without giving any indication as to when they plan to rerun and resume talks.
