Twinning Crete and Palestine through dance

Building a dance bridge between the two nations

Fifty dancers from Palestine and Crete take part in a dance dialogue, titled “Cretans – Philistines – Palestines: From Crete to Palestine”, at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis, cnr of Vas. Vasilis Skoulas, the legendary performer, lyre player from Anogeia Crete, leads the orchestra and dancers into a performance that links the past with the present, folk Cretan with Arab songs and shows how composer Mikis Theodrakis’ Crete-inspired works can also express the struggle for freedom and fighting spirit of the people of Palestine.
