UEFA slap 40,000-euro fine on Olympiakos

Club penalised for fans behaviour and breach of stadium safety regulations

Europe’s football authority UEFA slapped a 41,000-euro fine on Olympiakos for violating rules during the Greek club’s Europa League play-off match against Burnley in Piraeus. UEFA’s disciplinary committee imposed the highest penalty on the Greek club for fans throwing objects on the field, as well as violating safety measures by letting fans sit in the safety aisles between the stands during the match.
